As a volunteer-led user group, ALBUG relies on the involvement, expertise, and commitment of our members to help plan, lead, and carry out the programs and activities of the organization. Serving in an ALBUG leadership role is a great opportunity to become more involved in the user group, build relationships with colleagues across our member institutions, and help shape the future of ALBUG.
Nominations are now being accepted for the following leadership positions:
- President-Elect
- Vice President, Financial Aid
- Vice President, Student
- Vice President, HR/Payroll
- Secretary
We encourage you to nominate a colleague who would be a strong addition to ALBUG leadership—or to nominate yourself if you are interested in becoming more involved.
Open Leadership Positions
President-Elect
Term: One year as President-Elect, followed by one year as President and one year as Immediate Past President
The President-Elect works closely with the President and other members of ALBUG leadership in planning and coordinating the activities of the organization. Responsibilities include assisting with the planning of annual conference sessions in collaboration with the Vice Presidents and their committees, setting up and maintaining conference registration, and coordinating the annual Spring Workshop.
At the conclusion of the President-Elect term, the individual advances to President for one year and then serves an additional year as Immediate Past President.
Candidates for President-Elect should understand that this position represents a three-year leadership commitment through the President-Elect, President, and Immediate Past President roles.
Vice President, Financial Aid
Term: Two years
The Vice President, Financial Aid represents the Financial Aid functional area within ALBUG and helps identify topics, issues, and educational opportunities that would benefit Financial Aid professionals at our member institutions.
The Vice President may establish a committee of Financial Aid professionals to help gather ideas, identify potential presenters, and develop session content for ALBUG events. Proposed conference sessions are presented to ALBUG leadership for consideration as part of the annual conference program.
Vice President, Student
Term: Two years
The Vice President, Student represents the Student functional area within ALBUG and helps identify topics, issues, and educational opportunities that would benefit Student professionals at our member institutions.
The Vice President may establish a committee of Student professionals to help gather ideas, identify potential presenters, and develop session content for ALBUG events. Proposed conference sessions are presented to ALBUG leadership for consideration as part of the annual conference program.
Vice President, HR/Payroll
Term: Two years
The Vice President, HR/Payroll represents the Human Resources and Payroll functional areas within ALBUG and helps identify topics, issues, and educational opportunities that would benefit HR and Payroll professionals at our member institutions.
The Vice President may establish a committee of HR/Payroll professionals to help gather ideas, identify potential presenters, and develop session content for ALBUG events. Proposed conference sessions are presented to ALBUG leadership for consideration as part of the annual conference program.
Secretary
Term: Two years
The Secretary supports the administrative activities of ALBUG and its leadership team. Responsibilities include taking minutes of executive meetings, coordinating the printing of programs for the annual conference, assisting with conference check-in, and maintaining the ALBUG membership roster by adding and removing members as needed.
