Description: With 2020-2021 processing upon us, it is important to review all federal updates for the upcoming academic year and how that will affect Banner Financial Aid processing. This session will go into detail with these updates and how it relates to our processing flow in Banner.

Description: This session will be an overview of all Banner 9 Self-Service’s that the University of North Alabama has implemented and the lessons learned while transitioning from Banner 8 SSB to Banner 9 Self-Service.
Title: Student-Focused Customer Service
Presenter: Wilton Murphy, University of Alabama at Birmingham
Description: Excellent customer service can elevate student encounters with campus representatives. Why does student-focused customer service matter? How can service providers anticipate and prevent negative encounters? What are the elements of good customer service? This casual session will provide techniques and information targeted at anyone who interacts with students, family members, and alumni in a student support services setting. Drawing from recently published books and studies, we will unpack various service strategies so that you can find the best fit for your office. This session aims to be interactive and engaging. UAB’s One Stop Student Services office has been serving the UAB community since 2012. With a strong focus on customer service standards, our counselors and staff are trained to remain courteous and professional, especially during times of peak activity.
