Understanding Students and Employees in Generational Context
Nancy Biggio, Samford University
As higher education professionals, we work in a changing environment which must constantly adapt to the characteristics of each new college-bound generation. In addition, many of our new colleagues who we are called upon to supervise (and hopefully mentor) are usually of a different generation than us. Understanding basic characteristics of generations, with a focus on our Gen Z students and Millenial colleagues, will help us better serve our universities, students, faculty, and staff. In this interactive workshop, we discuss the core traits as well as communication, instruction, and supervision strategies for each group.
ARGOS Reporting – Shoot for the Moon
Tori Gaddy, JSU and Jennifer Williams, GSCC
What do you strive for in reporting? What would your dream reports include? In this session, we will provide pointers on how to start the conversation with IT staff about your reporting needs. We will also present ways that GSCC and JSU use ARGOS for reporting from Banner Student.
