About

The Alabama Banner Users Group (ALBUG) was formed in 2011.  Our mission is to develop and maintain a network of Alabama higher education institutions who use Ellucian Banner software.  ALBUG will promote the effective use of Ellucian Banner technology within member institutions, and act as a collective voice to influence Ellucian product and policy direction.

Our group meets several times during the year to learn, collaborate, and network which typically includes a Spring workshop, session at the Ellucian Live conference, and a three day fall conference.

ALBUG Leadership

President-Elect:  Chris Cheatwood, Alabama Community College System
Responsibilities: Plans annual conference sessions along with the Vice Presidents and their committees for content; sets up and maintains registration site for annual meeting, coordinates spring workshop. Term is one year and becomes President the following year.

President:  Latonya Conerly, Alabama A&M University
Responsibilities:  The president signs contracts for the organization and is executive representative to Ellucian and entities as needed; conducts meetings with the executive team as required to discuss business related to the organization. Term is one year and becomes Immediate Past President the following year.

Immediate Past President:  Chuck Hunt, Auburn University
Responsibilities: The Immediate Past President is responsible for identifying the location of future meetings and working with the property; works with corporate partners (vendors) and soliciting their attendance at the annual meeting; coordinates the process of election by having a call for nominations annually for vacant positions and presents nominees at annual meeting for voting. Term is one year after serving the two prior years as President-Elect and President.

Vice President, HR/Payroll:  Shain Wilson, Alabama Community College System
Vice President, Student:  Craig Shore, Ingram State Technical College
Vice President, Financial Aid:  Kimberly Miller, University of Montevallo
Vice President, Finance/AR/Purchasing/AP:  Matt Hall, Auburn University
Vice President, Technical:  Kristin Bright, Jacksonville State University
Responsibilities: Vice Presidents can establish an ad hoc committee of personnel in the identified area with a committee chair for the purpose of gathering information and sessions which would benefit the specified area; sessions are presented to the Executive Leadership for acceptance at the annual meeting. Term is 2 years. Financial Aid, HR/Payroll and Student are elected in even years.
Finance/AR/Purchasing/AP and Technical are elected in odd years.

Secretary:  Angela Collins, Jefferson State CommunityCollege
Responsibilities: The secretary takes minutes of executive meetings and coordinates the printing of programs for the annual meeting; coordinates check-in for the conference; adds/removes members as needed to the ALBUG roster. Term is 2 years.

Treasurer:  Sheila Washington, Auburn University at Montgomery
Responsibilities: The treasurer is the financial person for the organization and payments are made by this person with approval of the President; checks the ALBUG email account and responds/routes messages to the appropriate person. Term is 2 years.
